This shy guy is looking for the perferct forever home that understands his more reserved personality. Carlos loves people and other dogs but is still gaining his confidence and would do best in a home that respects his growth and will continue to gain confidence on walks, passing people or other dogs without saying hello everytime. Cars, barking dogs and loud noises in general are still a work in progress while out on walks. Inside the home with pups and people he is comfortable with nothing phases this little guy. Carlos absolutely loves chewing (anything with stuffing is his favourite, pillows, underneath couches etc) so a watchful eye while he continues to learn is a must! Carlos has been a rockstar with crate and potty training and will let you know right away if he needs to go out after naptime. While playing with his other foster siblings, he sometimes would rather play and waits just a bit too long but foster mom has learnt his schedule and forces potty breaks when needed. Carlos goes into his crate for meals, a midday nap and at night time and will run right to it as soon as he sees the food come out. During the day he loves anything he can chew to play with independently, or playing with his foster sister. Carlos is doing very well with his leash skills and is walked at a heel so he doesn't learn to pull and can feel rest assured that foster mom will keep him safe.
Carlos knows his name, sit, crate and paw and is currently working on down and stay but doesn't think those are as much fun! He loves belly rubs and laying on his back against you to let you know it's time! He's not a huge cuddler but will come for attention when he feels like it! So far he prefers snuggles from his foster sister so having another well balanced dog in the home would be a bonus! He will likely be a big boy so it is super important his forever family remember that when training! He has learned that we don't jump up for attention we sit and wait paitently for pets (as cute as it is now it won't be when he's 80lbs!). That hands are for licking and not play biting, and that human's coming and going from the house is no big deal! All this and so much more will be key to his success in a forever home so please make sure it's not just his cute face that makes you apply because it will grow very quickly!
